I just purchased a Treo 650. The retailer included a notice suggesting the battery be charged for 24 hours prior to first use. Is there actually any benefit to doing the first charge this long?

Of course not. They just like for everyone to waste their time evenly.

And no matter what they say, DO NOT put the battery actually in the phone. That could be bad.

I have a fondness for intelligence.
I often black out when doing something really stupid. I supose that's why I'm such a danger to my self

The manual recommends a first charge of 4 hours, IIRC.
