Zap!2016 caused my phone to crash without fail. It took me a while to figure it out because it would crash well after I had played it.

This is what, phone 5, 6 for you? Keep trying till you get it right.

Go get another phone, check it BEFORE you leave the store.
Make sure you tell them you want the one without the updated firmware, because you are not forward compatable. Oh, and have them send someone to operate it for you or have them transfer the manual to audio disc so you won't have to read it.

Or, you can get this nice TAC-phone. Look it even dials!http://www.totalmerchantsolutionsnat...es/StarTac.JPG
Right....because I didn't read the manual, right? And, didn't check the phone inside and out before leaving the store, right? Wow, if only life were THAT simple...

Nice comments you made. You should be proud of yourself .

Anyone know if the Klondike (solitaire game) that came on the Palm Desktop cd is buggy? I'm willing to consider that it's causing my lag/won't-wake-up-with-first-hit-of-the-red-phone-button issues...

    Thanks!

You really think it might be Zap? Because, I will take it off, but then, what is the point of these apps if some of them interfere w/the phone?

But, I am still trying to figure out why those icons disappeared.

Are you using any of the apps that came on the CD shipped with the phone (Documents to Go, you mentioned Zap2016, and others? You HAVE to upgrade some of these before you upgrade the firmware (as stated in the upgrade instructions) or they will cause problems later on. If you don't upgrade them, the old version will get installed when you sync back to your original userid. I don't know if upgrading the apps after the firmware is acceptable.

My phone has always been pretty solid, before and after the upgrade. I have seen a couple of resets since I got it in February, but they were caused by buggy software.

The "bug" does not present itself immediately. Say you change your preference to 3 minutes again, it will work fine and turn off after 3 minutes, until you have a call that is longer than 30 seconds that activates the "screen off feature". After that, the "bug" appears and turns off the screen after 30 seconds regardless of your preferences setting.
