Whenever I try to install an application to my SD Card, it returns the error "Unknown error (0xfffffff)".

I can install an application on the phone itself, however.

Has anyone run into this before?

    Thank you.

What's the app.? Is it too big for the card?

Is the litte switch on the side of the card in locked position? Is the card any good? Can the Card Info app detect it? Is there any data on it? Can you format it with the Card info app?

I have a 128MB card. The apps (Filez, for example) should easily fit into the card.

    * The card isn't locked
    * The card is fine - I used it on another phone previously (another Treo)
    * Card Info can detect the card
    * I've formatted the card with Card Info without problems.

What are you using to move files with? Palm desktop? Make sure that the Palm desktop application recognizes that card name, because if it doesn't, then all it will do is give you errors.

I am using the Quick Install application to move the files.

How do I check to see if the desktop app recognizes the card name?

Is your card, in fact, named? Check via Card Info.

I am still unsure what the problem was, but reformatting the card via CardInfo and renaming it - it did have a name - fixed the issue.

    It's all very odd.

I am going to give this a try. I am about ready kick the dog over this (I am kidding, I WOULD NEVER do such a thing). My problem is almost the same, but slightly different. I am trying to install TomTom to the SD card but the little bugger just won't go. When I choose to have "TomTom setup" install to the SD it acts like it is putting files in place/queue in the "Quick Install". But, alas nothing in "Quick Install". So I sync anyways thinking "maybe it is hidden", but looking at the desktop (palm), SD card, and the backup folder (PC) I find no trace of dear ole TomTom. Grrr.

Nah, I would never do something like that, I would be more inclined to kick a brick wall and break my big toe than I am to kick the little furry one. BTW any suggestions?

Kick a brick wall. Make sure you kick hard enough to break your big toe. Other than that (which I know will work, so you should just do it), no ideas.

Aren't there a few threads though about TT and syncing?

Yeah,.....but they are all about "currentmap" errors and the like. Looks like it will be an email to TomTom. But if any of you folks out there have an idea please tell me.

    Ahhh...I see.

Well, kick the wall before you try the email. I'm pretty sure that'll do it.

Nope. Or maybe I will, but you will never know.

I know how you feel. I spent half the night the other day figuring out I can't make Expense sync with the 650 Desktop.

Yep it installs there, just not the SD card.

here is the email I sent.

I am trying to install TomTom to the SD card but the little bugger just won't go. I had 2004 I did an upgrade to 5, then I apllied your patch (5.12) which forced me to turn on my phone each time I wanted to use TomTom (crazy). So I deleted Navigator then I tried to install 5 back agian and this is where the problems started. Since then I have tried deleting all traces of TomTom any where on my handheld and card. Still no fix. Your help needed on what to do next.
When I hear back so will you fair readers.
