Hmm. I'm on Verizon, and I think four buttons were pre-programmed, but they're all editable...

On my Cingular Treo I added some favorites by pressing the down arrow, highlighting a blank button, pressing the menu key and selecting Edit Favorites Button.

After that, I selected Edit Favorites Pages. From there I can just tap and drag buttons to whatever position I want. If I drag a button from the bottom to say the VoiceMail button, the phone just swaps the position of the two buttons. No need for any add-on programs.

I can't delete Web, Vociemail, Solutions and Store from this page, but I can move them to any page I want. I didn't want to delete them yet anyhow, in case I later found a use for them. I haven't filled a whole Favorites page so I still have over 56 empty slots to play around with.

    Hi Insertion,

I tried to delete using filez.....either I don't know what I'm doing or it doesn't work with the 700P because I can't seem to get into the database to delete.

Is there some trick to using filez?

    Thanks,

    Exec

I believe Bill Gamble's post under the one you quoted gives the answer:

I don't have the option for item/edit when I go into filez.....am I doing something wrong?

Yeah, it sounds like you're not trying to access the menu. Select the file, then tap the menu button: the menu sections are Item, Select, Tree and Option. Under the first section, Item, the following are listed: Details, Send, Delete, Copy, Move, Edit and Create Folder. Select Edit.
