    Lots of posts on this; search for DUN or BT DUN. Anyway, the simplest solution is PdaNet.
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

    I have an unlocked GSM Treo 650, and it works well as a modem using Bluetooth and newly enabled (in DC) Edge! What carrier is your Treo on?
    Palm III -> Palm V -> Blue Palm Vx w/Omnisky -> Treo 270 -> Treo 600 -> Treo 650 -> Treo 680

    I'd like to use my treo650 as a modem using the sync cable. Is there any software (modem driver) I can install on a laptop that will recognize the treo650 as a modem? I don't want to have to install hotsync or the palmdesktop on the laptop. I've tried pdanet which works well, but requires hotsync on the laptop. I'm looking to use the cable and not Bluetooth.

    I used to do this with my VGA1000 phone and it worked really well. I'm looking for something similar for my treo. Thanks for any help.

    You must've already hotsynced your laptop after you downloaded the program so I don't know why you'd ever have to hotsync again in order to use it. I think you've got to be doing something wrong. PdaNet does exactly what you're describing you want.

    I think what he wants is something similar to WirelessModem where you install only on your Treo. However, I am only able to make that work with my Treo 600 via the serial cable and it's performance is variable for me (depending on location) unlike PDANet.

    This is why I thought he wanted to use the cable, not wireless.

    Yes, I'd like to use the usb cable, because it charges my phone at the same time. (I bought an aftermarket charger/ usb cable). Also, I want to install as little (if any) software on the notebook computer. Installing hotsync and all the other palm software on the notebook is not desireable for me. Thanks.
