What is the best way to remove programs from the Treo 600? I've installed a program trial that I decided not to register and want to now remove it.

Delete it using the Palm Launcher then use FileZ (free app) to get all the orphan files.

You may also want to check out NorthGlide's Uninstall Manager - it costs a little, but may be worth it if you will be trialing software frequently (many users fall into this category).

Not all orphan files are easily identifiable, and some files are not saved under the same creator ID as the app that created it. UM takes care of both of those problems very efficiently.

Is there anything out there that will give you a file dump of the directory tree?

in so that one can create a file that has all the current files on it, install the app, then create another "snapshot" of all files on the device. Doing a 'diff' on the two would create a list of files that would need to be removed.

this would be the simplest way I can think of to remove it. Unless there is a registry type file as well that gets changed upon installation. Then you would need to do a diff on any effected files in addition to the directories.

Unless this is all that the uninstallers are really doing for you....
