    For some reason, my address book will not sync. I first noticed this problem a couple of days ago, but I think it's been going on since I got my new 600 about 6 weeks ago. Here is the error I get when trying to sync:

    ****************************************
    -- Address Book
    - Some handheld records were not copied to your PC. Your computer may be full or you may have reached the maximum allowed records on the desktop. To correct this situation, delete some records and perform a HotSync operation again.
    Desktop = 124, Handheld = 123
    - Some PC records were not copied to the handheld. Your handheld may be full. To correct this situation, delete some records and perform a HotSync operation again.
    Desktop = 124, Handheld = 123
    Address Book synchronization failed
    ****************************************

    Now, there aren't that many contacts there in the first place. The treo can hold many more than it has on it, and the desktop can sure as hell hold more. Anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it? I've tried a soft and hard reset with no success.

    Any ideas?

    Which side has the most up-to-date information? Change the action of the Addressbook conduit to either "Desktop overwrites handheld" or "Handheld overwrites desktop", whichever is appropriate.
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

    Tried that. No workey.

    Actually, I tried it both ways with no success. Any other ideas?

    OK...let's use dbScan.

    1.Install the attached file (dbScan) to your Treo
    2. Launch it and choose "Other"
    3. From the menu, choose Options/"Remove All Deleted Records"
    4. Do this for both the PalmSource and PalmOne databases (in your case, I think only the PalmSource databases are relevant, but choosing both won't hurt).
    5. Change the action of your Addressbook conduit to "Handheld overwrites desktop"
    6. Hotsync

    I'm out of the office today (that's where my syncing computer is), but I'll try it tomorrow. I appreciate your help!

    One question, though - If I overwrite the desktop, will I lose the contacts I have in Outlook? That's what I sync with. Thanks again.

    Well, looking at the record totals in your hotsync log, I'd say you'd be losing one contact.

    See, that's another problem . . . Outlook says I have 130+ contacts, but hot sync apparently thinks I have fewer. I don't get that. Maybe hot sync is hanging on an earlier contact or something.

    I still haven't installed the file because I'm still out of the office, but I'll post the results when I do.

    Holy cow! I was about to throw my new laptop in the Rio Grande until I came across this post. Thanks so much. You have no idea how much pain you have cured.
    I hope you live a long and happy life. Amen! Alleluja!
