    I originally owned a Samsung i500 and when it failed, Best Buy sent me a Treo 600 as the replacement. Although I have fought this war since the Treo 600 came out because of size, buttons, etc. I must finally give in and accept my fate. My dilema is this: Since Best Buy considers this phone an "upgrade" they won't give me a treo 650 instead. Of course if I'm going to upgrade, I want the newest available. This means that I have to find something that my old i500 did have that the treo 650 has but the treo 600 does NOT have.

    The only thing I can tell them is that the treo 600 doesn't have a removable battery but the 650 does...that didn't phase them since that is not a "feature". Help me out guys, I need reasons to give Best Buy so they will send me a 650 instead.

    What carrier do you have? Isn't the logical upgrade the i550 or the i730? Not that this will help in your crusade against BB, but this is an easy way to compare feature-sets of the phones. http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/com...%5D=&id%5B%5D=
    Sprint Treo 600 (since October '03) --> PPC 6700 (exactly 29 days) --> Sprint Treo 600 --> Sprint Treo 700p --> BB Curve 8330.

    Thanks for the comparison link, that helped but I still don't have any great arguments for the upgrade. I'm with sprint. As much as I would like the i550, everything I have read says that it will not be released in the US. The i730 looks nice but it's Windows based.
    The only other difference I can see is that the i500 has a voice recorder but the Treo 600 doesn't. The 650 doesn't either, however, it has a video recorder that records voice as well (it's a long shot but I'm willing to try).
    If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know.

    What about this angle. You had voice dialing on the i500, which the T600 does not have. If you had a T650, is comes stock with voice dialing software. Granted voice dial by name is a paid feature, but you can continue to voice dial by number forever with no cost involved.

    Looking at the 650 comparison, it didn't say it had voice dial so that is good news to hear. What is the name of the app so I know what to look for? I have voice dialing but since it is built into the phone I don't get charged for it but I know that Sprint offers "Voice Dialing" as an added item even for phones that don't initially have the feature.
    Thanks for the post, I will add voice dialing to my list when I call.

    The Treo 650 comes with "Voice Dial" by "Voice Signal." It costs $19.95 to register, but voice digit dialing works even if you don't register. I wouldn't talk about the fact that you have to register it and pay for it for full functionality, though, as this weakens your argument. Simply state that it is unacceptable to do without voice dialing, and point out that the Treo 650 some with voice dialing - which is true.

    I would stick with the removable battery argument. That IS a feature and could be an enormous treo 600 liability in many situations.

    If you are on a 2 hour conference call three mornings a week and then on the road afterwards the 600 would be a real problem. Tell them that you do a lot of cold knocking for a sales position in the afternoon and you have no way to use a ac/dc charger.

    Thanks for the help guys, I called BBY today and let the lady on the line know the differences and she didn't even hesitate to send me out the 650. I guess it had something to do with getting another person but at this point I don't care. Thanks again for the assistance.

    Glad to hear that worked out for you. The 650 is a vastly superior device to both the 600 and i500.
