Hi there, I just started using a Treo 650 after a 2 year rest from palm os
and the program I miss the most is easylock.
    http://www.dseifert.de/easylock/
It is still available for palm os 3-4 but is not compatible with palm os 5.
Does anyone know of a similar program for palm os 5

For those who dont know easylock is a security program where you have to press one or two (user selectable) hardware buttons after turning on the device, if this is not done or a different button is pressed the handheld is automatically locked.
This eliminates the need to enter a password or select something on a picture to unlock your pda, you dont even notice the process it becomes so natural.

So if anyone knows of a similar program for os5 please let me know.
Or if someone will write a program like that, I will buy.

    Really...
I did a search "easylock" before submiting and there were 10 results, the newest from 2003 and most of them had recomendations for the program, one had a mention that the program did not work on os5 but none had a discussion about this topic regarding this program.

Where in the world you get your numerous discussions I do not know.

"Learn to search" what kind of responce is that!

This has been discussed in numerous other threads. Try a search for "security" or other similar titles. Don't waste other people's time by refusing to take some time to really search for what you're looking for. TealLock, PDADefense Pro, etc... I gurantee that you spent five minutes looking and decided to let other people do the work. If you're going to use the forums, abide by the rules.

    does onlyme work now?

I registered it on my 600 but last NOV had trouble with it on the 650. I corresponded with the developer some but he didn't seem to interested in fixing the problems.

I've checked out the tranzoa website and I didn't see an update.

in defense of the original poster...he wasn't asking about general security software, but info on a specific app.

Really, its not like there is mandatory reading of all posts in the forum.
There are always a few people in every forum who always have to post negative comments on other people just to try to seem important.

Rumor says that there actually is a life beyond forums and counterstrike.

And searching for "security" DID NOT address the issue.
Sure I could find various security programs, but as I almost tried them all and none have the features I was looking for so I posted in the forum.
Why not just stone me !!!!

And as some of you have noticed I was asking about a specific app and specific features.
Onlyme, has some of these features but is not what Im looking for, onlyme locks the device with its own splash screen where you have to input a password via hardware buttons to unlock the handheld.

Easylock would just let your handheld start as usual and you would press an extra button or two within a few seconds or else the handheld would go to the system security lock, no splash screen and no one knows that there is any security program enabled, unles they try them selves.

Hit the wrong button and the pda locks.

This is one of the most convenient way one could have a pda secure without going through password splash screens and such.

Thank you dutchtrumpet for looking at the larger picture and for a informative comment, good to see that some still have the right forum spirit.

Akula34. How can you accuse me of waisting peoples time by posting by " refusing to take some time to really search what Im looking for".
I did various searches (none addressed the issue) and tried many many security programs before posting.

TealLock is a good substitute. It lets you set up a "Quick Password" of one or two button presses that only works on the first attempt; after that, you have to enter the full password (via button presses, if you'd like).

I used EasyLock on the m515 and switched to TealLock when I moved to the Tungsten T.

The specific question is asking for advice on apps that compare with easylock; not for advice on security apps in general. Decaf dude, decaf.
