I am all of a sudden having Hotsync issues. It started innocently by not connecting to my pc for a hotsync. Once I got the Palm help I needed to sync again, I noticed that it would sync everything except my calender, my contacts and tasks. Of course these are truly the BIG 3 for me. I have tried everything I can think of to solve this one. I even got back on the phone with Palm and of course they wanted to do the hard reset. The problem here is I will end up losing all the new entries on my Treo 650 with a hard reset. So before I take the final plunge, I thought I'd ask all of you for any other suggestions I may not have thought of. Why would the hotsync not backup my calender/contacts/tasks but perform properly on everything else?

Any thoughts would be appreciated...even if you have to suggest the dreaded hard reset!

    Thanks

    I'm having the same issue!
My Treo: Treo 650, Sprint CDMA. SW: 1.08, HW: A.
My Plan: $105/mo for 2000 AT, Unlimited N&W starting at 7pm, Unlimited PCS to PCS, No Roaming Charges in the U.S., Unlimited PCS Vision, Unlimited SMS & PictureMail.
My Stats: Using an average of 50MB of PCS Vision per month. 2,500+ photos in my PCS PictureMail account. Had a Treo 600 since 10/24/03, switched to a Treo 650 on 1/5/05.

Get yourself a good backup program and make a good backup of your files. Then, go ahead and do the hard reset. Really, if you can't perform a hard reset, you need to sell the 650. It WILL require resets on occasion. It's just part of loving this device we love so much.

I'm having the same problem with the big 3. I did a hard reset, used TealBackup and restored my palm and I'm still having the same trouble! Any other suggestions? It seems the files may just be corrupt!

This is not an uncommon problem. Follow these directions.
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

What error messages do you get in the Hotsync log? Or, is it just not initiating the sync for those databases?

i've had that happen before and have had to go back to a prior backup that was clean and not corrupted. I use backup man for my backup software. It's saved me on several occasions. if you have your data saved once on your outlook, you should do a clean install. if not, you may have to jot the numbers down and reenter after the dreaded hard reset. that's my opinion.

Deanandbeck...in your email, you said "...Once I got the Palm help I needed to sync again...". I have had connection issues with my Treo. I have done everything that one can think of to correct this problem...switched cables, soft resets, etc. etc.

What did Palm do to get you syncing again?

    Thanks for your help
