This is the thread I marked...
    http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...=1.28+cingular
for when I give up on CNG.

However, I haven't finished reading - so I don't know if it's the right solution for anyone else.

Well, I'm using 1.04-CNG now but it is quite stable. I get resets about twice a week, which is acceptable. And I don't think upgrading to 1.28-ROW will solve the problem because it might be related to the DB-cache depletion.

So that left only one reason I still want to upgrade - more free memory. Now I have to use powerrun a lot.

Not to defend Cingular here, as I think they and/or Palm need to release the update, but release a WORKING update as well.

The expectations to have the update by 7/21 were posted by one guy, who had a supposed reliable source at Cingular. Other posts on this forum show anywhere from 7/20-7/27.
I got my hopes up just like everyone else, because of this one post. I've since stopped looking at Palm's website every hour, as it has ruined my productivity.

In actuality, I've been doing OK on 1.05, but I'm not a real power user. I'll be content to wait.

A friend of mine told me that it would be available as soon as it's ready.

And this is a very trustable source, I believe him.

That's interesting. I heard it was going to be available BEFORE it was ready.

    No - that was WINDOWS.

The TREO was released "almost ready."

Maybe they didn't want to release such a potential tech support drain at the end of a week... so here's hoping for Monday!

For those interested in this Cingular update:

    1) it DOES have a bluetooth menu that says:
    Dial-up Networking [On/Off]

    2) It does NOT have a "Select Network" menu in the Phone app with a Cingular SIM

    gadgetinspector -
1 you said, '... clear for landing.' Where did it land for download?

2 Would you please post the entire rel notes if you have them & are from reliable source?

    Thanks.

"reliable sources" don't seem to have such a good record around here. . .

But I DO hope Cingular includes DUN since I'm already using it.

I just do not understand what is taking them so long? Sprint will be on their 3rd release and Verizon their 2nd before Cingular gets their 1st out the door.
