Can someone host 3 Custom TREO GSM, unlocked ROM, v 1.28 files? I am in Costa Rica, and (only) have a dial up net.. ugh.

Total of the three files is about 23 MB.

They are referenceds in this post:

    http://discuss.treocentral.com/showthread.php?t=90241

It is now taking, at 28 K... a looong while to upload to the folks who have been requesting the ROM's. I already can not keep up with the requests verse the time it takes to upload them.

I've checked Geocities, etc. and there are very small limits (5MB for example) on the total files that Geocities will host for free, though they allow a total of 15 MB for the free site.

If you can host one or some, please let me know.

    Thank you.

    Pura vida.

If someone can just validate for me that there is no copyright infringement issue, Iíll be happy to host them on my site (http://www.loveisearned.com). Iíve created a special page for it (http://www.loveisearned.com/html/palm.htm). Send me the files or IM me to discuss.

    Having said thatÖ

All of my pages on my Website have a graphic in the corner and one or more quotes about what the page is about. Therefore, Iíd like some creative graphics and quotes that will apply. Let the games begin.

Why not just get a gmail account, upload the imageds there, and then forward them to all comers? Good interim solution, anyway. I do that with photos, e.g., since I have a slow upstream connection, too.

Private-message me and I'll send you a gmail invitation, if you want.

(Of course, web-hosting is even better in most cases, so if the graphics aren't too big a hurdle then my suggestion may be a bit unnecessary.)

    John,

I was finally able to get two of them up to gmail after 16 hours of disconnects. The net connection (dial up) is terrible.

Gmail can handle the xfers ok, but it would be much easier for folks to have a link somewhere.

    Brilovett:

Good question re: copyright. Anytime an item is used without the direct purpose the author indended and by direct permission for said use from the author, it violates copyright. That would also include the 1.28 zip versoin of the ROM, since some work had to be undertaken to alter and break apart the package to create a zip version ameniable to customizing.

Even hosting the OEM ROM on a site, without permission by the author is copyright infringement.

Now, on the other hand, for educational purposes, materials may be used, without direct consent. That is qualified by 'true' educational institutions.

Check out http://www.yousendit.com/ -- allows files up to one GB. You can specify multiple e-mail addresses for recipients (separated by commas), and it stores the file for them to download at their convenience.

    And of course, it's free.
