It would be nice if there were a prog. Radio state will turn the radio back on after a reset without making the noise

If you go in to the "Prefs" panel, and go to sounds. You need to turn off "System Sounds." Game sounds will be on the same screen. This is the one that controls weather or not you hear the music indicating the radio is being turned off or on. It also turns off the clicking sound every time you click the screen.

I hope that answers the question.

I knew I had to try it before I posted but as I thought, the system sounds always return for whatever reason when you do certain things like, play realplayer. Thank God(palm programmer) there's a hack for the key clicking. I hope this was going to work but no go. DANG!!!

    SOMEBODY HELP!

Yeah, that's definitely another perk of using Radio State. I hate the startup noise.

Anyone have any info on this?

Well I found that when you add a bluetooth device (pair a new device) it turns the system sounds back on. I have to go back to Prefs>Sounds and set the system sound to max, then back to 0 to turn it off.
    The workaround I have is:
I use a program called "Profiles" which allows me to specify all of my sound and other prefs settings. One of those settings is to set the system sound to off.
I use Profiles to automatically turn my Treo off at night, on in the morning, and set the volumes to a lower setting during my work day and back to louder at the end of the work day.
So I just use my profiles quick launch key (in my case I press and hold the menu button) and just pick a profile which covers the system sounds. Two quick button presses and I'm done, system sound is back off.
The program ProfileCare also does this (same concept.) I have used both and I personally prefer the one called "profiles."
Even if the system sound accidentally gets turned on and I don't notice it, the next time a profile triggers it'll be turned back off. I have 4 scedueled profile triggers throughout the day. So 4 times a day it's being forced OFF, including the morning trigger which turns on the phone.
