Yes. Use a file manager to delete ContactsBDIndex-PAdd, ContactsDB-PAdd and AddressDB; then launch Contacts to build the empty DBs and Hotsync with the Contacts conduit set to "Desktop overwrites handheld".

This is happening to me now. It is happening to ALL my built in apps.
Addressbook, Contacts, Memos, Todo....All three need to be disabled not to prevent crash.

    How annoying !
I have had Palms since the very first Palm1000 came out. The Treo 650 is the most unstable Palm I have ever owned.

The device recets if I turn the conduits on for Contacts, Memo or Todo. It seems all the internal DB's have gotton corrupted.

I had to hard reset and not restore from my Resco Backup. I had to use my desktop to restore. This is the real danger of an OS that randomly corrupts files. You need a very agressive backup strategy that keeps many versions to prevent the loss. A single daily backup is very likely to get corrupted itself. I had serveral days worth of backups but they were all currupted. I guess my problem is resolved now because I was able to restore mostly from my Desktop but a simple restore from Resco Backup did not work.

Thanks so much for enlightening me with dbScan. It solved a corrupt address book problem that's plagued me for months!

    nevermind...handheld overwrites desktop did it...

How do i launch the file from my desktop? When i double click, the file moves to the quick install, so I don't have a chance to do the steps 2-4.
    Thanks

    Hi Bill,
I was tormented with this same problem the whole day today and was at a complete loss till after quite a lot of Googling I stumbled upon your solution to this problem re Hotsync progress stopping at Memos. A bit disappointed when at first try it did not work and then I checked your instructions again and realized I had omitted that part to configure Memos to 'Handheld overwrites Desktop' before going to step 5. I went back and did it all over again, correctly this time, AND IT WORKED!!! Problem solved. Thanks very much indeed!!
