Although I've used ichat on my powerbook, I don't use chat on my Treo. Hopefully other mac users who do IM on their Treos will chime in...

With that disclaimer, here's my understanding -
Any chat client that supports AOL IM (AOL IM = AIM) should support your .mac account. Some Treo chat software that supports AOL IM:
    Verichat http://www.pdaapps.com/verichat/
    Agile Mobile: http://www.agilemobile.com/agile_messenger.html

Both of these offer trial downloads, so you can try before you buy.

i have found that most chat apps will work. i haven't tried all, but i have tried several.

make sure and list your username as "yourusername@mac.com".

    good luck

You need a newer client. You can not use TOC-reliant clients with .Mac accounts to talk to the AOL AIM backend.
