    I know I have read somewhere that there are freeware available which forces a soft reset for Treo 650's, but I cannot seem to find it with the Search option (not even sure if I read in this forum or not). Does anyone know of any freeware that does this??? I am tired of taking the battery cover off to press the reset button-made even worse once i get my new skin case.

    I don't know about freeware, but ZLauncher does this for you. In fact, I think most 3rd party launchers do. You would do well to download a demo and try one out. It will change your whole outlook on how the Treo works when you can customize everything.

    Heres the link for the freeware program, mReset. Seems to work fine on my 650

    Of course, like any software solution, it will only work when the system is not locked/frozen. Still gonna have to open the case for those situations.

    I don't think it works on my 650. I get a soft reset every time i try to open it. :-)

    You can try Soft Reset 1.2.
    Me = Nokia 5170/Palm III > Kyocera 6035 > Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 700p > Treo 755p > Treo Pro > Palm Pre

    Wife = Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 755p > Palm Centro > Palm Pixi

    Thanks for the recommendation, I'll keep in mind. I am still working out the kinks w/ Agendus Pro and do not want to install another major app (like a launcher) at this point, just yet.

    I think it's like your W2K IE server, you have to reboot it every week to avoid lockups, etc.

    So that I can release all the memory right b/f a scheduled backup. Backups are less likely to fail when memoery is fully available.

    I do it all the time, using LookAtMe and mReset.

    1. At 1:40 am, TreoHelper turns off the Treo's phone
    2. At 1:45 am, LookAtMe launches mReset and resets the Treo
    3. At 1:50 am, BackupBuddyVFS backs up the Treo
    4. At 2:15 am, LookAtMe launches mReset and resets the Treo
    5. At 5:00 am, TreoHelper turns on the Treo's phone

    I've recently added step #4 because I discovered that in the aftermath of a card backup, the dbCache is dangerously low. A reset after the backup brings the dbCache back to an acceptable level.

    Treo OffOn has a soft reset field and many more features. It's free (make a donation)

    Here's the link to the Tread.

    unbelievable...when I bought Palm back inthe Palm I days, I have seem the proliferation of Palm apps...and now w/ my new Treo, I am still amazed.

    What even amazes me more is if people had to pay for all the apps they can use on the Treo, how much MORE $$$cost will that add to he phone?

    Buddy, thanks for this post. Useful!
