    I find now that when I wake up and go to use my Treo in the morning it starts up the automatic back up that was supposed to be at 5 am. Somehow now it seems to get stuck and waits until I turn it on to do the back up. What the heck...
    Well, it isn't perfect and it makes me crazy, but I still do love my Treo!

    I upgraded my BBVFS a few days ago and my automatic backups still run at midnight as scheduled. (I should probably change it to 4:00 or 5:00 too).
    Did you install any other software that might also be trying to run at 5:00AM and conflicting?

    After you paid for version 3.07, you were emailed a file that contained your registration key and were instructed to install it.

    1. Find this email and re-install this file.
    2. If you can't find the registration email, contact Bluenomad Support, providing your Hotsync ID and the email address you used when you registered, and ask them to resend your registration file.

    You probably have the personal edition while the pro version is the only one upgraded.

    eKeith is probably right, you may have another process scheduled for 5 am, or therabouts, that's getting in BBVFS's way. To make sure, install the Alarms? application (attached) to see a list of each application's next alarm.

    If that doesn't seem to be the problem, then try "clearing the decks" just before BBVFS is scheduled to run. Schedule your phone's radio to power down at 4:50 (and back up at 5:05) with TreoHelper and use LookAtMe to schedule mReset to run at 4:55.

    Thanks. That's a really cool program.

    I do that too. TreoGuard turns off my phone at night and then LootAtMe resets my Treo with mReset 10 minutes before my scheduled backup. It's also nice to have a freshly booted Treo in the morning.

    I am looking for a backup program that will restore my Treo 650 exactly to where it was prior to a hard reset (as of the last backup of course). Can any expert user answer these three questions for me please:
    (1) DO either of these programs backup everything (web favorites, settings, programs, etc)?
    (2) will they backup to my PC (my SD is full)?
    (3) what is the difference between Backup Buddy and Backup Buddy VFS?

    Thank you. Dave

    1. BBVFS and BB are supposed to. Actual experience is mixed. I have restored from BBVFS once or twice. BB restores never worked for me.

    2. BB backs up to the PC; BBVFS backs up to the SD card

    3. See 2.

    Yes. I've completely restored my Treo several times using BBVFS.
    (2) will they backup to my PC (my SD is full)?
    BackupBuddy for Windows will; BBVFS backs up to the card only.

    Thanks Bill (and Aloke). Just to clarify, if I want to be able to back up to the SD card on the road AND to my PC at home, I have to pay for two separate software programs?

    The professional version of BB includes a copy of BBVFS.

    Thanks Bill. That is what I want to buy. It doesn't seem to be available for purchase however. Everywhere I look I see ver 2.1 for sale. What gives?

    That's the latest version of BackupBuddy for Windows; the latest version of BackupBuddyVFS is 3.1.

    I use BackupMan also, but have it scheduled to back up (and it does so without a hitch) at 4:00 and then BBVFS is supposed to kick in and do its backup at 4:45. I tried Alarms (neat pgm) and it just shows those two programs (and strangely a Contacts-PAdd at 12 am on Sept 16 and Date & Time at 2 am on Oct 30). I'll try your suggestion but I haven't been able to get TreoHelper to work properly at disconnecting the network connection with the gray arrows. I can't find any clear instructions for the program. Any suggestions? Which controls turn on and off the phone for example?

    1. I'd wager that the Contacts-PAdd alarm is a birthday.

    2. The Date & Time alarm on Oct 30 is the end of DST.

    3. To schedule your phone's on and off times, launch TreoHelper. It should open with the General screen; if it doesn't, change the dropdown at the top of the screen. If you want the same times every day, tap the Day button and adjust the on and off times; if you want to vary the times during the week, tap the Week button and enter the On and Off times for each day of the week.

    Bill:

    The BlueNomad website only offers BB VFS 3. They offer BB, and a bundle that includes BB and BB VFS but both are version 2. If I understood you email, to get both I don't have to buy the bundle but I must buy BB 3 not VFS 3. What do I do now?

    The current version of BBVFS pro is 3.1. The current version of BB is 2.1.0.5. If you buy BB pro, you get the current versions of both BB and BBVFS.

    <EDIT>
    An inspection of the Bluenomad site reveals that BackupBuddy pro includes a copy of BackupBuddyVFS Personal, not BBVFS Professional - the version that this thread announced.
    </EDIT>

    I tried to download Alarms.prc directly to my phone using Blazer but it doesn't recognize the format and just saves a file named attachment.php to the card. How can I download & install this directly to the phone?
