I had been using Launcher III forever until the new Visors came out. L3 is incompatible with OS 3.5 , so I need a replacement that works in color.

Right now I'm trying out MegaLauncher II. Any other good color launcher replacements?

I haven't tried any of these myself but
GoBar, Handscape Lite, Launch'Em, Palm Pickle are color.

To see screen shots of these, go to this page and click on the names. Sorry the pages are all in Japanese but some companies don't show them in color.

    James:

Launchem works with the Prism with no Problem. However, it is not optimized for color. As such, you will still it in in black and white.

Launch'Em 3.x, currently in beta, has full color support. I posted some on fhis info in another thread. On the Prism, I currently prefer MegaLauncher II over the new Launch'Em 3.x though but I plan to do more testing of both.

Oops! yardie is right! They are showing screen shots in color but GoBar, Handscape Lite, Launch'em, themselves are in black & white.

Palm Pickle is really in color but it's too cutetsy, too expensive, too big.

Only the beta version of launchem works in color. The older version does not. What version of GoBar and Launchem do you have?

    James,

Which one have you decided to go with? Eventhough I dont have the prism yet, I think the beta of Launch'em is the way I will be going.

I've been using Launch'Em beta. I still miss Launcher III. I keep accidently rearranging the tabs in L'em. I do like the fact that I can have one tab be in list mode and another in icon mode.

I, too, am missing Launcher III...

But, I've just registered MegaLauncher (after deciding that Launch'em is just TOO SLOW) - although the interface is complex, it's much easier to work with in color; and, it can be configured to simulate the Tab metaphor. (Oh, and it also packs in a whole slew of additional file management tools and widgets.)

    James - Launch'em Beta
If you double tap on the tab in the beta it will change the view from icon to list. This program (version 2.X) was bundled with Omnisky beta on the Palm and it was migrated to my Prism.

Also, make certain to have all of the plug-ins installed because you can use switchhack to pull up a "most recent apps" and a "most common" to pop up plus switch to "last program" and "all applications list".

Reading the manual really helps figure out all of the other "gadgets" as well. I had a hard time dealing with some of them. Once they finish the beta - which I've had only one minor crash due to color settings issues - this thing program will really rock and roll now it just rocks!

Is there anyway to turn off dragging tabs to change their order? I keep accidently rearranging my tabs.

None that I'm aware of - but if you are using the beta - of course send a suggestion to Synergy Solutions and ask them to include it.

Another suggestion might be just continuing using until breaking the habit of dragging the tabs. I also have colored the tabs to remind me of different locations.

Sorry, not being a former user of Launcher II, I'm not aware of it's features.
