The keys started going out on my treo (this is a known problem through sprint and they will exchange the unit out) so I took it and they gave me a replacement. the new treo has hardware "B" listed and they even fixed the battery cover (no more loose, squeeky cover) I got mine from the store I rancho cucamonga california but they had to order it, so I assume any might get this as a replacement

AWESOME!! I' having the key problem as well, specifically the alt and right shift keys. I couldn't imagine the B revision having much more than the keys and battery cover fixed...A was a solidly built phone.

Might have to take a trip to the Sprint store today.

I have bought 5 Sprint Treos in the last two weeks for staff in my department. All have come with A and 1.03. Our supplier buys from a Palm source. I update them to 1.12 before I give them out.

I just received my first batch of rev b's. The only thing I can see that is different is the screen. It has a bizarre yellow tint to it, and looks like one of those privacy screens that you can;t see from the side. Further investigation of my other units showed the same thing. I am hoping my own personal rev A stays around for a while longer because the yellow tint really bugs me.

I've heard about that difference in screens...I just got my 3rd Treo 650 replacement and it is Hardware A with a beautiful bright white screen. However, this phone has a much more solid feel and the bettery door does not squeek...yet.

I read in one of the links above that the person that received a B model got better reception now and also even more signal bars displayed. Is that true for others that have received their B phones through Verizon.

That is my only complaint. My signal sucks in an area where I am only 3 mins from a Verizon dealer. Mine just shows the first little tick for a signal and that is it.

I have not seen any reception upgrade and the screen still bugs me after 3 days of use.

This reminded me of this thread. I'll bet that's why his screen is different, although I think the replacement is brighter (and whiter) than the old one.

Well, I just received a revB from SPCS yesterday and I am not liking it. The screen does have a yellowish tint and thecamera SUCKS. Everything is fuzzy on it. I am going to take it back and get my old one back at this rate.

I have Rev B, and version 1.03. I have had my Treo 650 for about 3 weeks, and I have to say the reception is very inferior to my V60S and my 710. I am not pleased.

Just got one today. It's HW Rev "B". Anyone know the diff between A and B? Hopefully an improvement with BT (prob not).

Group me into the 1.12 Rev B group on my latest Sprint replacement. So far the only difference I can tell is the yellow tint on the screen. Not as clean and crisp as the original A and the keyboard has a purple tint to it rather than a vivid white color. Also, the keyboard dims with the screen now with option-enter. Otherwise it seems about the same. I was annoyed by the screen at first but am getting used to it. I will report back if it affects battery life at all, it is my only theory on why they toned down the intensity.

i have a verizon hardware b, software 1.03 preloaded. i bought it about 2 weeks ago. unit is solid, screen is crisp and bright.

i also picked up two palm oem cradles - rev b 0529 - that work flawlessly.

all is right in my world.

Got my Sprint phone replaced a couple of weeks ago. (p key quit, Rev. A phone) they replaced it with a Hardware B phone. I don't know what the difference is, haven't really looked into it, except my keyboard lights are different. Other than that pretty much the same.

I had a problem with the internal speaker and returned the device. Had to replace my device 3X within a month and rec'd refurb phones. They replaced the phone w/ a brand new out-of-the-box Treo. Looking in phone info I have
    Hardware Rev B
    Software Rev 1.12SPCS
    PRL 10028
I also have the purple tint on the keys. I do not have the yellowish tint on the screen like many of you have stated.

The keys dim on Revision A as well. Nothing new there.
