    Jeff,
Would you please add a link somewhere near the download link for VC that points to a version history? It would be nice to know what bugs are being fixed or features being added/changed in each version.
Also, can you please send an email to the people who have purchased VC when you post a new version so that I (we) know that there is one available? The email should also include a list of changes for the version of the sofware that the email is notifying us about. Thank you, Jeff.

I agree, I never know there is an update unless I happen to read this board.
Were we suppose to sign up for updates somewhere. It would be also nice to have check for update feature on the actual VC software. But keep up the good work Jeff.

Will the VolumeCare "Add-on Module" be incorporated into ProfileCare 1.4.4?

I've scrolled thru this long thread and didn't see a mention of the price going up to $14.95 from $9.00. I did see member's saying best 9.00 I ever spent.
I also saw Jeff complaining about a Palm site that takes 50% of his gross.
Are we now making up his losses with that vendor?
Can I still get it for $9.00?
It's not the price to me it's the principle of going thru the posted link to Jeff's
site . . . adding the software to the shopping basket and seeing $14.95 come up.
Maybe TreoCentral members get a discount for all this free advertising?
So what's up with the $14.95 price?

I don't usually post on these boards, but your responses have brought me to a point when I can't sit quietly.

Do you HEAR what you're saying? You're not willing to pay $15 for an application that somebody CLEARLY works VERY hard to develop. An application that takes the Treo 650 from being "useless" to completely usable.

PAC-MAN costs $14.95 and is nothing but an ARCADE GAME.

Try asking the Documents to Go people to give you THEIR software for $9.

$14.95 is the price. When you go to Best Buy to buy your favorite product, do you ask them if you can have it for cheaper because a year ago the price was five dollars cheaper?

    Give me a break.

So what's up with the $14.95 price?
Let me try to clear things up here. When I originally created VolumeCare it did one task. It maintained the starting volume for each call and tried to increase the volume. That product was priced at $9.00. Then I put in many more hours of developement time and came up with a way to increase the volume by order of magnitude. I still left the price at $9.00 for some time. Then people kept asking for more and more features. I kept spending more and more time on the program. So in order to justify the additional resources being dedicated to VolumeCare I had to raise my prices. So I incresed the price of VolumeCare to $14.95. The price is constant through out all my sales channels. It is just not possible (or necessary) for me to post price updates in all of the forums that talk about VolumeCare. I did make this information available in my developer forum for VolumeCare though.

So I hope you understand why I made the price increase. I am a small business owner and for me to continue devoting time to developing software, I need to balance time spent on an application with the revenue it is producing. Personally, I feel $14.95 is a low price for this software. I see other developers out there charging far more for software that provides *far* less value than VolumeCare.

It is true, I complained about PalmGear in the past but we do now have a very strong business partnership.

Thanks for your explanation. You can see my confusion where this thread led me to think it was $9. $14.95 is almost a 50% increase, so I was surprised when I went to buy it and saw that big an increase. I did see you still sold it on Palmgear too for the same price. One would think if you are selling directly and you don't have to pay Palmgear their huge cut you would be offering it in a bundle of some sort. Just my opinion!
I do appreciate your filling a void with your software. But for some of us it gets annoying and expensive to have to keep buying third party programs that correct problems that Palm should have corrected anyway with a software upgrade. Having had to shell out another $200 for all new accessories after upgrading from a 7135 to the 650, It still just rubs me the wrong way to have to pay to correct Palms problems. Where does it end? I don't mind paying for an upgrade like if I'm unhappy with the basic contact management program. But at least the one that's OEM works. So I think it's great that you solved a problem with your software. But it just ticks me off that I would have to pay anything to be able to use the phone like "a phone"!

Ummm, I'll ask again since I was ignored. Jeff do you have an email list or something so users know when there is an updated to volumecare? I only know about updates unless I happen to read this thread. You may also want to add a check for update feature on the actual volume care software so we can check on our own. Thanks.

I have not had time to build an update engine. The best way right now is to check my website (http://gotreosoftware.com/modules.ph...ownload&cid=12) for new versions. I know this is not optimal but until I get a notification engine built, this is the best I can offer.

Ok, lets stop the post war before it begins. I want everyone ot feel like they can post any concerns they have in an open and professional manner. I accept positive and *negative* posts. I get a big head over positive posts and I learn how to do a better job when I get negative feedback .

So please no more lashing out at people that have voiced a concern. I appreciate everyone's support and trust so many have shown GoTreo Software! I am trying very hard to earn your trust and your business. I realize in a perfect world, Plam should have a perfect product. They don't and I am trying to help make their product a better and more enjoyable product. That's all. GoTreo Software is in business hopefully for the long run! I am not out to take advantage of anyone. I charge fair prices for quality software and I work my **** off trying to answer forum posts and produce updates to reported problems.

And that's the main reason I am purchasing VolumeCare.

The program really hasn't made a huge difference for me on my Treo, but I'm a firm believer that those people who can do stuff that I can't do should be supported for their efforts and attitude.

Thanks Jeff. Some people are just so hateful on these boards . You ask valid questions and if they don't agree with them, they're ready to jump down your throat. Thanks for answering. Keep up the good work. I love the software. My ringer volume is so loud now my wife complains. lol
