I need to extend my wired GPS receiver a few feet farther. I am using a TomTom receiver and a Seidio car cradle. Given that the cable is a 4-conductor RJ11, I assumed that I should be able to use a 4-conductor coupler and a few feet of 4-conductor phone cable. However, when I do that, the cradle LED dims, and the Treo stops charging. Perhaps the coupler and/or the cable are adding more resistance than the cradle can handle, but that surprises me since It seems to happen with any length of cable, any quality of cable, and any coupler I can find.

Does anyone know how I might extend my receiver?

Thanks,
Conrad
