That is really good to hear! Once the semester settles down I'll definitely give Chatter a try and post my results here!

    Thanks for the info.

It's interesting how this thread has morphed into a Pro Chatter thread

With that in mind, I had a question for Marc: I've noticed there are lots of litle tiny micro improvements in the Snapper Beta every day or every other day. For the most part this is great, though I'm wondering for the person who wants the latest and the greatest...how ofthen should the have to hotsynch the new version to their Treo.

And: How many people here use the mobile download version of Snapper. Which system works best? (I.e. handzipper lite or some other utility).

And: Still on the sidelines with the Chatter SD card support thing. In the recent e-mails I've been getting, the SD card support still hasn't reached its' full support yet (though I could be mistaken).

    Hi Kev,

What "Snapper Beta"? I thought the only version is 2.2.7. Where do you find Snapper Beta versions?

    Thanks, Casey

I love Snapper, it is great, it is just REALLY frustrating when it loses track of the messages on the card.

From what I understand this is really an issue with the Treo and the NVFS (which honestly I think has caused more problems then it is worth!).

I do like the idea of saving the emails directly to card (since I tend to get emails with lots of large attachments) and the ability to rebuild the library of what emails are on the card just by looking at the card.

If I were Snapper I would have worked really hard to add this feature. Bascially so they could then honestly say:

"We know there is an issue with losing track of the emails on the card. The changes to the PalmOS can cause our database to be corrupted and there is nothing that can be done about it. We can't control the OS to keep it from corrupting files. HOWEVER we have improved snapper so that WHEN (not if) the database is corrupted, the program can rebuild the database by scanning the card."

    Yep. I meant "Chatter Beta."

SD card support in Chatter is very stable for IMAP and almost as stable for POP3; I haven't heard of any serious issues with either.

One nice thing about Chatter's SD card system is that it's possible to recreate the RAM part of the data from the SD card (i.e. what Atif is asking for). On the other hand, there hasn't been a SINGLE report of losing SD card data with the Chatter beta's (and there are MANY beta users using SD card support at this point).
