I'm using it but I haven't tried to install palm desktop on that machine yet. I've got all my drivers working, but I've noticed alot of flaky issues so I haven't gone too far with it yet.

Thanks for trying this out. I know, now, not to install Windows XP x64. Who knows how long it will be before all of the drivers that I use will be compatible. It took years for some drivers to be compatible with Windows 95 and Windows 2000, didn't it?

you know what though the best thing to do is contact P1 for this...however i am sure they will say there is no support for 64bit processing...only 32.

Theres a thread around here discussing the same thing, the poster links to the P1 KB article saying XP64 is not supported.

I have Windows x64 on a laptop that I got for work..it came with it installed on it, so all my drivers were great...and it runs amazingly. I absolutely love it. However, I DO really want to sync my palm with it. I know that palm says it's not supported, but surely some enterprising person has figured out how to do it....c'mon guys?

I followed the directions at the link. I still had no success getting things to install form the Palm CD.

I then wanted to install MS Office 2003 and IT wouldn't install.
I changed everything back as it was before; still no luck.

I opened regedit and imported a backup that I had made of the registry from before my attempt, and I STILL could not install Office.

I'd still like to get palm working, but now I want to be able to install ANYTHING.

    Any ideas?

Use a restore point to go back to a working situation.

(I've installed the downlodable version of Palm desktop w/o any registry tweaking in xp 64)

unfortunately the computer is SOO new...that my only restore point would put me BEFORE my network administrator set up my networking access.

I'm not sure what I did...I don't think I did anything, but everything is installing again. I still don't have Palm Desktop running so that I can sync via BT. I haven't tried it since, but would like to get it running. Anyone have hints?
