The previous version could delete links (in Datebk5).

Everyone should update to the latest version.

Download and open datebk5-v54a-s4.zip; dbScan is in the AdvancedStuff.zip file.

Can someone just post the .prc for it (so we don't have to dload the whole huge file, unzip and install on the Treo itself) here please? Thanks!
Well, it isn't perfect and it makes me crazy, but I still do love my Treo!

    Here you go.

    P.S.
While looking at this I noticed the mention about the DeletePIMS.prc in the documentation. If anyone is running DateBk5 on the 650 and hasn't run this -- look into it! I got back almost 2 Mb right away!

You can delete the old legacy databases from dbScan as well. But be very careful !! dbScan is a very powerful tool, and you can delete the wrong thing by mistake ....

Well...since you say we could delete the wrong thing by mistake...could you be a bit more specific about what old legacy databases are and exactly what files can be deleted from dbScan please? Thanks.

I haven't explored all the option sin dbScan, nor do I understand the whole thing.

There are 2 main sources of problems .. corruption in the files creared by the datamanager patch (called PalmSource files) to allow old software to access the PIM data in the new files used by newer PalmOne devices (called PalmOne PIM files).

The old legacy PalmSource databases are:

    DatebookDB
    ToDoDB
    AddressDB
    MemoDB

The new proprietary PalmOne databases (on the Treo 650) are

    CalendarDB-PDat
    TasksDB-PTod
    ContactsDB-PAdd
    MemosDB-PMem

Treo 650 native applications use the PalmOne PIM files. An older application will likely use the PalmSource files, the Datamanager will act as a intermediary and effect the changes in the PalmOne PIM files.

You can delete the Palmsource PIM files on the Treo if you only use applications that ehave been written to use the PalmOne PIM files (like those that come with the Treo 650, or some latets version of newer applications like 2day or Datebk5). This is under Options -> Delete PalmSource xxxx in dbScan.

The other source of problems is that when entries in teh PIM's are deleted by the user, but not purged by the Datamanager. Option -> Remove all deleted records may fix that problem.

Read the messages in http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pimlicodatebk/ on dbScan. The author (and others who know much more than I) explain things much better over there.

This should be the right one.

I've heard that polar bear steaks are tough, but maybe if you marinated them in beer they'd turn out all right.

Version shows 1.9b on install with PInstall. BUT, when you go to the about screen in the program, it shows 1.9c...

So many palm developers do this, it is one of my pet peaves. They forget to update the resources everywhere and that is one of the reasons that TrackerDog gives off so many false versions....

    Thanks for uploading it, Cheers
