Everyone loves to check out and play w/ my treo when the see it. I don't mind friends checking it out, however is there a way to password protect the stored pictures, mores specifically from the camera app that shows thumbnails?

Ahhhh, you have filthy pictures of you girlfriend too?
My Grandma had a shock when I gave her a slideshow of some of my pictures on the phone.....

ahhh I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that has the "naked g/f picture issue". I get extremely nervous every time my Dad picks up my phone to play with it. He has been considering purchasing the Treo for a little bit now and every time he picks it up to play with it I'm extremely hesitant to let him see it. If anyone comes up with a way to do this let me know. Thanks.

MonkeyMan...you have no naked pics of your girlfriend hidden on your Treo??

create bogus boring sounding category names for your home made porn shots, and bury them on your card. category names like tunatwn, taco supreme or shrubs etc..... Keep a couple of ho-hum dull family and friend pictures in a handheld directory and always make sure to view this category before exiting the Pics app. There is almost 0 percent chance that a non experienced user can choose the tiny little card icon at the top right of the screen and then choose your "naughty category" correctly.
I am usually calm when handing treo to strangers due to my "hiding". Granted psswrd protection wud be nice.

if you have zlauncher u can lock any of the tabs they can only be unlocked via password. i have a personal tab and it is of course locked so when i let peole see my treo they dont see my checkbook, palmasutra etc.

how do you make it lock individual programs though? it seems like you can only lock the Categories these programs are in.

I use to lock tabs with ZLauncher but if you exit out of ZLauncher you can still access the "locked" apps using the built in launcher.

I recommend Resco Viewer. It's a great photo viewer and basic editor in its own right, but also has great privacy features. It not only allows you to set individual photos to private, but can also encrypt them (using separate passwords, IIRC), so even if somebody looks at them in another app or gets access to your SD card, they can't open them.
