I've had this problem on WinXP and a reboot has always fixed it.

When it happens the cable sync will not work although I can still BT sync and Network Sync.

I just reboot and it is fine. I think it is a USB or hotsync monitor prob, although I haven't diagnosed it yet.

I have the palmOne cradle, and it sometimes doesnt hotsync. I think it has to do with the contacts being dirty or something. I slam the 650 into the cradle and sometimes it works. Its been getting worse. I can see some dark stuff on the contacts on the 650. I'll clean them up and see if it helps.

That worked for me; I just blasted the contacts with compressed air and function returned.

    Same problem.

I find that if I hold the wires coming out of the backagainst the desk and lift the cradle forward a little bit, it seems to help. I thought it might be a bad connection..of course it could all be in my mind.

I am going to try cleaning the contacts as well.

Same for me too - I have to make sure I really smack the 650 down into the cradle so the contacts are good, or I get no hotsync love.
