I was wondering if there is a step by step guide which explains how to add / modify / update ROM on a Treo. Please let me know if you come across one ... I've tried to search but have not been able to find one.

    Thanks,

    RK

For Treo180 or Treo270, you can try Brayder's ROM Crafter and JackSprat:
    http://www.brayder.com/

I have used JackSprat to remove several unused built-in APs and remove non-English extensions. For me, released Flash ROM size is about 1.5MB !!!

If you're interested, you can also try Palm Debugger: to save your original or modified ROMs too. Or you have other's ROM to flash into your internal ROM:

    http://www.tompda.com/bbs/download.a...m-Debugger.zip

The debugger may help to save your Treo from can-not-boot in several cases.
So be sure to backup your original ROM file before everything. Palm Debugger is your last saver, remember.
Also be advised that doing anything to your ROM will void your warranty.
