just wondering how good p-tunes works for everybody else because sometimes I have problem with mine.sometimes it skips songs and some rare instances even crashes my phone. what I found is that if I have p-tunes set to just "card" it doesn't take time to "search for files" and that when I have problems here and there, but if I have it set to "all" then it takes a few seconds to search for music, but I don't have any problems,do other users have the same problems??post your overall usability and experiences too,it'll be very useful to see results from other users, thanx in advance!!

Same here - it skips onto the next track, usually on hi-bitrate files, but sometimes on 128kpbs too ! - very annoying, realplayer does this too - the only player I found not to do this is The Core Media Player. Im on 1.23 and I think I suspect my card, but its a 60x - so what is the problem? (ive had two Treo 650s and both have had this ?problem?) - any Ideas?

no problems with skipping songs here, but I live by playlists...

No crashes from pTunes either.. Sometimes I fall asleep streaming, or listening to mp3's, when I wake up the next mourning pTunes is still going strong.

When I stream audio with p-tunes I NEVER have any problems!!also I should state that it doesn't matter if I play high or low bitrate files, p-tunes still skips every so often. I like TCPMP and I use it all the time to play my movies,it a wonderful product. I currently have MPEG,MPEG4 and MP3 plug-ins enabled with the .prc, but when I select songs to be played using tcpmp it does nothing. I sUspect I need the right plug-in,but which one do I need?i have the other plug-ins saved on my PC,so someone please fill me in. this would be a nice contrast to p-tunes, i'll have more than one option for music!!

I have TCPMP but it doesn't play in the background? Or can you change the settings? I've been using Busker I like the interface and that you can download album art but been having some problems recently - after downloading album art Blazer won't work until I do a soft reset.

P-tunes won't make your TREO crash. Remember that it runs in the background while your doing other things. It has been my experience that any crash was always related to some other program like Versamail running at the sametime. Just because you were playing p-tunes at the time, doesn't mean it was at fault.

PTunes never crashed my 650. Not even when incoming phone calls interrupt it. It never has any issues starting back up when the call finishes.

My problem with ptunes is that if I go and press "stop", when I relaunch ptunes it doesn't seem to remember where I left off. I am not looking for resume in the middle of the song, but why does it not at least start back at the song you left off on in the play list. Seems to arbitrarily pick an earlier song. If I press "pause" its fine.

Same here. It's probably the most stable app I have.

TCPMP does play in the background (when I press Red phone button) and never skips - I have all the plugins installed (even thoses I dont use) and it does play mp3

Its still plays if you press the red button but if you press the home button to switch to other apps it doesn't play. Just tried it.

The only problem I have is P-tunes and TreoAlarm. When I go to bed, I fall asleep listening to mp3's. I have p-tunes set to stop after 45 minutes. It stops but of course it stays active. When my alarm (TreoAlarm) goes off in the morning, a reset occurs. I have had others test this and it has occured with them as well. Don't know if it is P-tunes or TreoAlarm. I think I have had a reset with P-tunes as the active app and then Botzam Backup doing it's 4:00am scheduled backup. But, I have not been able to reproduce this since I noticed the problem with P-tunes and TreoAlarm.

I suggest you do something like the following: have TreoHelper turn off your phone @ 3:50 am (and back on at, say, 4:30 am) and LookAtMe to launch mReset @ 3:55 am. That'll give you a clean backup and make sure that PT isn't active when TreoAlarm activates in the morning (you could do the same thing with ProfileCare, but these apps are free).

I've been using PTunes for past several weeks with no problems. Mine seems stable. Much better than RealPlayer for sure.

Thanks Bill, such a simple idea that I didn't even think of. Of course, I wish apps for the Treo would learn to get along with each other.

    Thanks again,

    John
