I use my Treo's MP3 player every time I go jogging (approx. 5 months now / 3 times a week). Just make sure you have a light-weight case to affix to your shorts/pants, I'm using the Seidio case for this which was a little awkward at first (not really the case but the size of the Treo) but no problem now. Works great! Although, I did take out insurance with Cingular.

I did drop one treo using the palmOne leather case (which is a piece of junk), after going to the Seidio case it's been excellent-except for the paint rubbing off where the plastic case meets the Treo (not a big deal for me).

I use my treo650 to play music (PocketTunes) several times per week at the gym. I also use it to keep track of my work-outs (Workout Tracker)

I do occassionaly, but my Ipod sounds better and is a lot easier to control. I.e. I have a Vaja case with easy access to the controls and a remote control for my Ipod and no such easy controls for my treo.
I wear my treo at my belt and I haven't come across a good belt carrying case which would allow for easy access tot the keys. Apart from that, with screen off only the four application buttons work.
So although I would love to replace my ipod with the Treo, the Treo is just too cumbersome to use in comparison. I only use it when I have to travel light (or my ipod batteries run out again ).

I love to listen to public radio broadcasts on the treo such as A Prairie Home Companion , This American Life and The Next Big Thing during the workout. I convert them fro wav to mp3 with realplayer and drag and drop the file with the card reader on my tower, only takes 1 minute versus 1 hour if you try to sync em.

I know, no music just public radio, I'm boring.

What do you guys use for headphones? Are there any headphones (no headsets) that use the 2.5mm jack on the treo? I have the adapter from TreoCentral, but find it rather cumbersome to use.

Slow? If you are using Quick install for mp3s, a sleeping snail would be faster!! Spend the $19.99 and get a card reader!!

    Cheers, Perry.

I use it exclusively for listening to MP3's and watching videos during trips. People watching over my shoulder have asked 'Is that an I-Pod?".

Being a musician, I like to 'sweeten' the MP3's before loading them onto my Treo just to make the MP3's sound better/warmer/bigger.

Only time I use another MP3 player is when I'm biking as it's smaller and I don't have to worry about hurting it in a crash

Hell yes everyone uses it as an mp3 player and a video player.

Another option to the card reader is the USB SD card reader.

This is a nice solution as you can keep it on your keychain and when you graduate to your next larger card you can keep the smaller capacity SD card in the reader for some extra storage.

I use it at the gym about 5 times per week....no problems, as of yet.

I was thinking about picking a Lexar LDP-200 for my gym work... the Treo 650 is just too bulky... and it'll double as a SD card reader!

Don't have my Treo 650 yet...but I use my Garmin iQue 3600 (Palm OS PDA/GPS) as my primary MP3 player. Can store tons of MP3s on my 1 GB SD card...or a 2 HR movie with a couple hundred MB to spare for MP3s. Plan on doing the same with the Treo 650 once I get it this fall. I picked up one of those RF modulators that plug into the headphone jack (need the adapter for the Treo 650's smaller jack) to use in the car. Works like a champ. As long as you don't drop your Treo, I'd imagine running/jogging would not be a problem. Wouldn't you run/jog with an ordinary cell phone? Case closed. I'd probably get one of those shock resistant cases just in case of a fall.
