Assuming you have an SD card, put them in your AUDIO directory..if you dont have one make one called AUDIO

Open Ringo bottom right click on the icon of a single person, on the next screen click "New" as in new contact...after this type their name or look it up and then click ringtone adropdown(blue arrow) and then choose "Pick Mp3 Ringtone"

If you don't have a SD card I *think* you can email them to yourself and then save them to internal memory...not positive as I use an SD card

Note that this way requires you to use third party software to play an MP3 or WAV file. You can't play an MP3 without third party software. You can however add a wave file as a ringer without third party software. Send the wave file via bluetooth to the 650 and it will be added to the ringtone database. You can use this ringtone for any of the default ringtone, but you can't use it for an individual ringtone in the phone favorites (you can select it but it won't play). Search the forum there are lots of discussions about MP3, wave, and AMR sounds. For a discussion of third party ringtone software check the Treo Utilities forum.

Is there any freeware apps like ringo out there that does the same thing that ringo does?

There are no freeware apps that can play MP3s as ringers. However, with wav and amr support, you can get very good sounding ringers unless you want a whole song as the ringtone.

This app works great with my 650. Do not use any later than 4.32 Ringo or you will have frequent crashes. Enjoy.
