    Hi Folks,

this is my first post to this forum. i've lurked for a while and read some interesting things about datebk4 and downloaded it and quite liked it. however, the other day i followed a link off palmgear.com announcing that an app called Action Names (www.iambic.com) had won an industry award. i downloaded it, and it kicks ***!

it is a replacement for the addressbook, datebook, and to do list (and has a few other features) that is *very* intuitive. the manual is better written than the datebk4 manual and within 15 minutes i deleted datebk4 and registered action names. action names is also smaller (half the size) and only $20.

the only thing that i don't like is that i can't just hit the address book hard button on my visor and have the address book section come up. still goes to the visor address book but that's no big whoop.

i *highly* recommend you check out this app. it, pedit pro, and my stowaway keyboard are my 3 favorit things for my visor.

    mc.

For starters, I edited both the title and content of the original posting in order to remove the profanity.

If you go to Buttons... in the Prefs app, you should be able to assign ActionNames to the Address button.

Actually, on the website you'll find a link to "add ons" that allow you to assign particular functions to particular keys. I have the datebook assigned to the datebook button and the addressbook assigned to the addressbook button. It's fantastic!

In addition, check out the ActionNames discussion list on eGroups. ( http://www.egroups.com/group/actionnames ) and ( http://www.crosswinds.net/~actnames/ ) It's a high-traffic list that covers everything you'd ever want to know - and then some. Good luck!

    Vox,

Thanks for the link to these Proxy apps by Blevins. This complete's the program for me. I have sent a request to Iambic for a new view - a two month agenda view where the task/todo list would be listed below the two months. This would be similar to the Quarter View however you'd be able to see your actual agenda unlike in the Quarter View in the lower right hand corner that's so compressed you can't read but the first 3 characters after an icon.

It's a very good program and now thanks to you it just got better for giving us those links.

Mensachicken, why did you have to wait until the day after I registered Datebk4?

Does the Actionnames datebook have custom views? That was the feature that finally sold me on Datebk4.
