    I've been using Shadowmite's BT DUN patch on my locked Cingular Treo 650 for about the last two months without any problems. Starting today I'm continually getting a message stating that "Could not negotiate a connection with the remote PPP server. Please verify your settings and try again."

    The log file shows the following:

    Mon May 30 22:29:37 2005 : Generic GPRS CID1
    Mon May 30 22:29:39 2005 : Making GPRS connection
    Mon May 30 22:29:43 2005 : Serial connection established.
    Mon May 30 22:29:43 2005 : Using interface ppp0
    Mon May 30 22:29:43 2005 : Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem
    Mon May 30 22:29:44 2005 : appear to have received our own echo-reply!
    Mon May 30 22:29:44 2005 : Remote message: PAP access OK
    Mon May 30 22:29:44 2005 : PAP authentication succeeded
    Mon May 30 22:29:46 2005 : LCP terminated by peer
    Mon May 30 22:29:50 2005 : Connection terminated.
    Mon May 30 22:29:55 2005 : Serial link disconnected.

    I've verified all my settings: wap.cingular as the dial string, WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM as the user name, and CINGULAR1 as the password. I'm using a Mac with OS X 10.4.1. BT sync is working find.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Could be totally wrong, but sounds like a temporary network issue.

    Now I'm noticing that the phone can't stay paired with my car, it keeps dropping the pairing. I'm wondering if I have a hardware problem on my hands (thought bT sync still works fine)
