Anyone know where I can get a Sandisk 2GB SD Card right away? Many of the sites are saying they are out of stock or I need to wait 1-2 months to get one. Thanks so much.

Amazon has the 1 gig Ultra II for $91 in stock. Shipped free. If you need it right away, you might have to just settle on buying two 1 gigers. I don't know your situation.

If not, good luck on your search!

The SanDisk Ultra 2GB is not yet officially released as far as I know. If you really want one, get on some supplier's buy wait list or you will wait a very long time. The anticipated demand for this SD card far exceeds SanDisk's predictions.

But be aware, the price is going to be right around $200 and you will not find many sources with that price.

I may have misunderstood the original poster's question. I was referring to the Ultra II 2gb card, which is a high speed SD card. The ones on Ebay and available at other retailers is the standard SD card and not high speed.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Sounds like I can buy a regular card on eBay. Is there much of a difference between Ultra and non-Ultra?

I would always buy as fast as possible. It is certainly important if you are going to record audio or video on your sd card. Get a slow card and you can't really do it.

I have a 1 gb SanDisk, no trouble recording video/audio or playing them on my Treo 600. Yes, ti does take time to save to the card. And yes, it would be nice if these apps streamed directly to the card instead of RAM first.

I'm using a regular 512Mb SanDisk in my T600. Syncing Avango to card is very slow. Playing video, I get fewer fps that others using the same file settings which is I think due to the speed of my card.

When I upgrade to 1gb or 2gb, I'm going for a faster card.

As several have posted, a faster SD card is always better, particularly relative to loading pictures, video. The more storage capability it has; e.g., a 2GB vs a 1GB, the more important this becomes. This can become evident also when running apps from a high storage card.

If you can afford to, I would defintely opt for the hig speed card.

Just got my regular 2gb sandisk from Dell. No problems so far in terms of speed I think. I got an amazing deal and they didn't have the UltraII so I took my chances. I figure when the prices on the Ultra II come down a bit I'll sell my regular one and get it.
Well, it isn't perfect and it makes me crazy, but I still do love my Treo!
