Given the nature of these discussions, it is not surprising that the overwhelming majority of contributions are focused on problems and their potential solutions. After reading many of the threads for the past few months, it would 'appear' that the T650 is inherently defective. Is this true?

Are there people out there who are experienceing problem-free, enjoyable, T650 ownership?

My guess is that the results of this poll will be similar to previous polls about the 650 here at TC.

My experience is not problem-free but pretty close. I love my Treo and I can't remember how I kept track of anything before I had my trusty 300, then 600 and now 650.

I love my Treo 650 so much I married it and then later consummated the marriage while hte Treo 650 whistled and chimed in delight.

Hmmm, maybe the Republicans were right about the erosion of the sanctity of marriage...

I really like mine. Had a 600 for a year, and the 650 is even better. Seems more stable since I upgraded to beta 1.23 ROM. I was having a little problem w/ Phone Technician and resets, but once I stopped using PT, I have no resets in the last two days.

I love my Treo too, but I'm already married.

Eviglhost, I can always, always count on a big smile or outlight LOL escaping my lips whenever I see one of your posts. Keep it up.

Since re-upgrading to 1.23 Treo-life has been trouble free. Now if I can just keep myself from loading that cool piece of software that I just found!

I have the T650 with verizon... wonderful pda/phone.

IMO the way to being trouble free on the treo or any palm pda, is not to load up 100 programs. The only program I have on mine is chesstiger. Even it forced a soft reboot and hang when I registered it. Other than that, it runs fine, treo works fine.

Some people do not know or forget that many (majority?) of these programs are made by people in a "home office." While not to knock them, there are some quality control issues present in those programs... can't test every pda or smartphone on the market.

Don't be misled. Most people who post will have a question, comment or ***** about a problem. It's more typical someone will say, "Friggin Agendus just crashed my Treo, WTF?" rather than, "This morning, I opened Agendus, and found a phone number!!"

My 650 has been very stable, certainly since the 1.08 upgrade.

Every time I get weird resets, its from software. Usually software that I just don't care about, too.

    Over 90%, As I suspected.

We Treo users are a passionate lot. We love our Treo, and our gripes come from wanting it to be the best it can be.

I love the 650 too. the only thing I find myself wishing for is that we had a more powerful battery.
the removable battery is fantastic, and I've got one for it, but I just think we need a power source that will last a you a lot longer during a day of heavy use.
other than that, this baby is the king. hands down.

I have had trouble here and there but it has never been the phone. It has always been 3rd party applications.

    1) Bought the phone, crashed repeatedly, come to find out date mate is not compatible.

    2) A few weeks later, repeated crashes, Docs 2 go was corrupting saved preferences.

    3) Later looping resets, Ops accidentally overloaded the card with porn pics

    4) Later than that, more crashes, ops megalauncher shouldent be installed with megacommander.

    5) So on and so forth, more resets, ops uninstall managers work in back ground got into a fight with megalauncher and the treo lost. Simple fix dont use "work in back ground"

This thing is almost flawless, its the 3rd party stuff that makes the device look bad.

I love love love my Treo, I'm thinking of taking our relationship to the next level but the headset jack is to small and I'm not sure if that is legal here in Shawnee Kansas any way

So much so that I did take our relationship to the next level. It was a magical night, that cold December evening, and thinking back on it brings a smile to my face no matter what life has thrown at me! Of course, that's before I get home from work amd find her sitting on the couch, complaining about how her friend iPod bought new shoes today, but I don't make enough money for her to do that. Then I trip over the styli and screen protectors little Tungsten and Zire(I know, I know, but she wanted traditional names, what can I say?) left on the floor! I'm thinking about taking that nice 6600 I saw at work out for drinks next week. If Treo wants to treat me like dirt I'll show her!!!!
Go here if you're tired of being .
    It'll be fun.

The treo 650 is not (by any means) a perfect product. Give me better bluetooth range, a louder speaker, and wifi and I'd be happier.

However, nothing else out there has done the job better. The formfactor is great, the software selection is great, and the general implementation is 90% there.
  17. #17
it works -- stable, fun, and functional.

Perfect implementation ?? uniformly well thought out design ???

    No. Bloody no.

But its honestly so much better than all that is out there -- still.

And superior to much of what is only vaporware and miasma.

Mine has been absolutely flawless. Not one problem. Not one reset. not one hang.

I have had mine for about 2 hours though
