I was looking for GPS mapping software for PalmOs which has international maps and I found http://www.gpspilot.com/Atlas.htm
    Does anybody use this?

    Do you like it?
did you make any maps yourself?
Anybody interested in swapping selfmade maps (in mainly interested in Australian ones....)

Does anybody know other programs that have international maps?

I have used Atlas for years and have always LOVED it. Mainly because Im not interested in turn by turn voice commands, rather I am interested in maps of assets I have in my state. Burried fiber, towers etc. Atlas allows me to "Make" my own map of just about any size. It could be a map of the United States, or of my back yard. I includ the location of the fixed assets which interest me and then enter it into the Atlas system. I must accuratly know the coordinates of the upper left and lower right corners of the image, that image must be a rectangle and the system will assume it is a linear representation of the geography between those two points... It's that simple.

I have a map of a colleg campus which includs the locations of steam tunnles and man holes. I have a map which indicates the center lines of point to point microwave paths which cross the state. and I have a map of my back yard which shows the location of each tree, drive way and garage.

There currently is a bug which has rendered version 5.6 in operable with the new GPSs which contain the new SIrf III chips (or at least my HOLUX GPSlim236 which uses the SIrf III). The text strings seem to confuse the software ever two or three seconds and tells the GPS I am in North Africa for about one second, then back in Oklahoma. GPSPilot tell me they are working on that problem.

I'm happy to share my home made maps.

In this directory are a bunch of maps I have made. Most have a .bmp such as
    http://www.onenet.net/~bjohnson/maps...s/01_OUHSC.bmp
then the Atlas map .pdb such as
    http://www.onenet.net/~bjohnson/maps...s/01_OUHSC.pdb

Other than Houston, Boston and Dallas (three cities I travled to and made maps of) most of my maps are inside Oklahoma and many are of my vacation spots. Help yourself if you see something interesting.
