Not sure how many of you have had this problem: The person I call complains of an echo of their own voice. I did a search on google and tried the suggestion of tunring down call volume to 2 bars of less. This seems to have corrected the echo, but I can't believe I would have to do that each time I make a call??

    Anyone else run into this???

I did do a search BTW on this site... No real solution... Any suggestions?

By turning down the volume "two bars" I guess you mean on the Treo650. Turning down the volume in the TWH was more effective for me. Even better was when I put a Jabra Eargel on it, & chucked the earpiece thingy.

I'm still not exactly sure what the relationship between the volume on the TWH and handset is. What I meant was adjusting volume on the Treo. But on my wife's Nokia, when the volume is adjusted on her HS-850, you can see the volume adjust on the Nokia's screen. This is not so on the Treo. Either way I guess the effect would be the same: reducing sound output from reaching the microphone on the TWH. This whole Bluetooth thing on the 650 is just horribly done!!! I'm not sure if I want to mess with eargels on the TWH or get another headset like the Jabra BT250 or SE HBH660. Have you tried eith of those? How did they compare???

I also have the SE HBH660 and like it a lot. But I also used the Eargel on that and it works great configured as such. In fact, the volume was so loud that I needed to add a bit of cotton in the Eargel channel to attenuate the volume a bit. The only thing I don't like about it is the ear-piercing beep before and after a call. I do like the battery gauge and the caller ID (though I use that rarely).

So which is better...HBH 660 or TWH? Forget the caller ID. Which is better in terms of sound, range, ease of use, etc.?
Well, it isn't perfect and it makes me crazy, but I still do love my Treo!

I can tell you that I am VERY annoyed with my TWH. Even turning the volume way down does not get rid of the echo. I tried the Jabra BT250 and it has horrible static and loses connection beyond 4-5 inches from the Treo!!! This is a great phone but the Bluetooth is TERRIBLE!!!!

You need to finesse the volume on the Treo itself as well as the headset volume to reduce/eliminate the echo.

Having just returned from RadioShack with a set of EarGels, I can also attest to the increased (improved) sound and reduced (eliminated) echo on my TWH.

Have you tried the HBH 660? I just got my TWH and am annoyed that I may have been better off getting the HBH 660 from what I'm reading on here now. What settings did you use for the phone and the headset to eliminate echo?

I just ordered an HBH-660. The TWH is officially for sale now! I just can't deal with having to tinker with the volume to have decent call quality.

I've got 4 bars on the Treo (approx half volume) and I'm guessing about half on the TWH. I only occasionally got echo complaints before, but so far with the EarGels I haven't had any (on the 4 calls to people who complained before).

Can someone post a pic or two? I'm looking at pix of the earpiece side of the TWH and can't see what a Jabra eargel has to slip "over" and attach to (and more importantly, how secure it is once attached)... I was was using (and liked) a Jabra eargel wind-up corded HS with my 600 before getting my 650, and am trying to decide which BT HS to get (seems to be between the TWH and Sony, either with Jabra eargels)...

    Thx!

Or here's another one with the SE HBH-660. The Eragels work the same on it as it does the TWH:

I tried putting the Jabra eargels on the TWH and it split down the side on the medium size and the large sized one

I am using the black/gray colored one, and it is working very well.
