My thanks to all of you experienced users. You've made my journey easy so far. Almost every question that I've had was answered somewhere in here.

I do have a couple of questions that I've not found anywhere and I wonder if someone could help.

    1. Does the screen on your Treo 650 turn on every time you gain/loose service? Not just for the quick look that you would get if you didn't hit the keyguard release but a look that stays on for the entire selected on time. An annoyance while driving in fringe coverage areas. (Cingular service.)

    2. I've seen many threads about internet sharing. Frankly, that is not high on my priority list. I would like to be able to connect to my small office or home network and move files around with FilePoint and print on a network shared printer with PrintBoy, functions that I enjoyed with my Tungsten C. Is this something that I might be able to do through Bluetooth? Do I need a Bluetooth AP or just an adapter for one of the computers on the network? Sorry, I understand LAN but have no Bluetooth experience.

Just so that you know. I've had the Treo only a week and the LAN connection is my only remaining project. Knock on wood, everything else is working perfectly.

Yes, many folks have reported their screen turning on at odd times, and I believe that service loss or gain has been mooted as a possible trigger.

I like Dean's Guide for a complete explanation of the process for sharing your PC's IC via Bluetooth.
