Brighthand has a story that Microsoft has disabled almost all remote TCP/IP connectivity functionality in the new version of Active Synch (4.0), which is required with the latest Windows Pocket PC 5.0. That means no WI-FI, GPRS, etc., although it apparently still works with Bluetooth. Does this make sense to anyone? How useful is active synching if it can't be done remotely? While this may be at least in part academic to PalmOS users, I assume subject to correction that it will impact any of us who are interested in Outlook Mail Access with MS Exchange 2003 and Versamail 3.0. What are they thinking?
