    my last 650 was stolen and i got a replacement from sprint. the phone is asking for a password that i do not have. is there a way to completely reset the phone? i tried to reset it with the hard reset butotn in the back to no avail.

    Don't believe so. IIRC, someone else had a similar problem with a phone he bought privately, and even a "Zero-Out" reset would not clear the password.

    Your best best is to take it to the nearest Sprint store and demand a replacement for what is essentially a non-functional unit that they've given you.

    Doesn't say much for Sprint's pre-delivery checks on refurbs!

    Try the last 4 digits of your cell phone number. That's the default lock code for Spring phones nowdays, or at least it is on mail order phones from Sprint.

    thanks that was it i did not know that the phone was even on (which explains why my old phone was not working). they might want to tell somebody as i talked to them yesterday (abou tthe old phone) and they made no mention of it.

    Yeah, it's funny how they didn't mention it. I only remember because when I mail ordered a phone from Sprint, the customer service person did point it out to me twice. BUt there was no paperwork that indicated what the unlock code was. Oh well. Glad that it's working for you.

    Weren't there INSTRUCTIONs that came with it?
    My mom got a replacement phone AND it said TO USE the last 4 digits of her phone #....
    Now it's the WAITING GAME: a GSM Palm Pre
