I can troubleshoot a lot on my Treo, but I am stumped on this one:
I have a small (80B) data-base file in my RAM, with a nonsense name
(D Ш) which I only discovered when BackupBuddy complained that it encounterd an error and couldn't back it up. This also blocks my scheduled back-ups. I deleted the file using a file manager, and then BackupBuddy was fine, but the file keeps coming back! It hasn't interfered with any other function of the device, and I haven't been able to nail down which program I run might be generating this. Possible culprits, just based on frequecny of use are: SnapperMail, the phone function, Documents to Go, Blazer, ZLauncher, Handmark Express, mNews, Palmary Clock, Jot, KeyCaps600.. Anybody have any ideas as to how i can rid myself of this rogue file permanently?
    thanks,
    amell

Does FileZ show a creator ID for the file?

    It's back - Creator is b4J9

Never heard of b4J9, nor has TrackerDog database... My only guess would be that it is related to the java runtime environment (which had a variety of J9 creator IDs, if I remember correctly)
