Is Pocket Tunes Deluxe still the only software that will allow me to get Shoutcast on my 650?

I've been looking into this as well. Need my daily dose of talk radio. Is Pocket Tunes Delux and shoutcast the solution for the Treo? You'd think that what would drive it would be whatever is the standard streaming protocols there are out there for the stations that stream, but I can't seem to find any good direction.

Based on my research thus far, it seems that alot of these stations outsource their streams to companies that push thier MS Explorer client so they can stream advertizements along.... Shoutcast seems to be more internet radio station focused and not broadcast radio. Any input would be appreciated.

What is the bit-rate of a stream that would not get interrupted every now and then? I tried listening to streams as low as 56K, and still get buffering interruptions.

Cool. When you get a moment, point us to some of those?

BTW, I had buffer issues with 56k and higher, rpungin, but no problems with 32k and 24k. As far as I can tell, 24k is mono, and 32k is stereo.

I'm still looking for actual AM talk radios that is streaming in a ptunes compatable format, and not the 'internet radio' streams. Would love to get Hannity/Glenn Beck/Limbaugh/etc. Any links would be appreciated.

UPDATE: Got Limbaugh on WLS Radio via .pls

    Url is http://abcrad.ic.llnwd.net/stream/abcrad_wls_lo

Anyone else find any live talk radio broadcasts please post.

Found a great resource for "live" .pls feeds:

    http://www.live-radio.net/info.shtml

Do a search and limit it to MP3, US, Talk, or whatever criteria you wish. Lots of international listings, for those interested.

    Cheers,

If you listen to conservative talk radio like I do, you can get the KSFO 560 mp3-stream with Ptunes here:

    link
    www.ksfo.com/listenlive/listenlive.pls

You get the following (I think)

06:00-09:00 Lee Rodgers & Melanie Morgan
    09:00-12:00 Rush Limbaugh
    12:00-15:00 Sean Hannity*
    15:00-16:00 Dr. Laura **

*-note: Sean Hannity is usually tape-delayed in SF Bay Area until 3:00pm,
but due to some policy technicality they cannot stream the tape-delay,
so the feed is the live one (which I like better).
**-I presume, switched with Hannity, though I haven't tested this.

Got it, and thanks GC. Still trying to find Glenn Beck. besides KSFO, I'm currently listening to WSL Chicago, KSL Utah, and KFKA Colorado.

I still haven't figured out how to manipulate some of the stranger formats, (other than .pls), e.g., .m3u, streaming mp3, asx, asf, etc.
