For alternatives, we invite you to check out our Chatopus, http://www.chatopus.com.

We also have an article on how to use bots via Chatopus, http://www.chatopus.com/articles/bots.html

Chatopus does not host the bots themselves, but it allows a user to use any public bots available in the Jabber network, such as weather, dictionary...etc

I did go through the referred link on how to use bots. I don't understand. It says that to use the weather bot, first go to weather.yahoo.com and then use the bot. If I have to go to yahoo weather then why should I go back to use the bot. Am I missing something?
Ok I want to check weather for Paris, France and San Jose, CA how should I proceed?

You only need to visit weather.yahoo.com for looking up a city code, so you know which IM contact to add. Once you have added the weather bot for the corresponding city, you no longer need to access weather.yahoo.com. The weather information will be pushed to you in real-time.

Please feel free to ask any question.

    Thanks.

Looks like in version 2.84b they fixed this Yippee!

    Causerie also has bots.

It's unfortunate most of these bot's only are for the U.S even though the Treo is sold all over North America now, support for Canada would persuade me to use one of these app's, for now I'll get my weather from Express and driving directions from Directory Assistant

Tested VeriChat's bot--your local weather information. It does give weather information for almost all major cities of Canada.

Yes. Verichat, Causerie and Chatopus all have some access to bots. Verichat and Causerie host their own bots.

On the other hand, Chatopus' bots are provided by the Jabber world. The same bots are also accessible on a desktop, by using a Jabber client, such as iChat or Psi.

We also have an article discussing how Chatopus and iChat can work together.

Using Causerie I was able to get 5 day forecast of Canada. I did not try any other locations or any other Bots of Cauaserie for Canada info. Just try yourself I think it must work as it worked for one example.
