WARNING: A friend just tried the 1.21 update on an Palm One Unlocked GSM Treo 650, and afterwards he's getting the dreaded "Not Enough Power to Activate the Phone" message. Not sure if this is a bug in the 1.21 software, or perhaps his phone was actually broken and the 1.21 update revealed the hardware problem (he's always had lots of resets).

Sounds like the only way to fix this is to send it in for repair, see http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...ad.php?t=74293

Update: I just heard that he re-did the 1.21 update from scratch, and this time it seemed to work. The only thing he did different this time was removing the SIM card before trying to turn on the phone. He then got a "missing/damaged SIM card message". Then, upon inserting the SIM card, it made the "phone turning off" sound, after which turning the phone ON again worked.

    Weird.

well....unofficial and unreleased updates installed by people who don't follow the never officially released installation instructions may, in fact, break a treo or two.

I'm waiting for the "official" release.
