i started using "Jotter" a few days ago.
I use it to capture random thoughts. Sometimes in a diary sort of way. Sometimes just to 'jot things down' and collect them under various topics.

I have also exported my 'writings' to a memo file which worked really well.

If you've been looking for a very simple tool like this - you may want to check it out: http://www.myspace.dsl.pipex.com/

As of 4/18 Jotter supports the Treo and it's freeware so you don't really have anything to lose

I like the appearance much more.
    Easier to search for words.
    Easier to sort
Shows the date in a column.

You don't HAVE to use it

I've just recently installed this myself. Nice little app but the 5-way navigation on it takes a bit of getting use to.
