    Hi all

    I recently purchased a Treo 600 and have been making some 'practice' applications to learn Palm development. I'd like to sink my teeth into a real app now so I'm looking for ideas.

    I can't think of any apps which havn't already been written! Having read the posts in this forum, it looks like the only apps not written are the ones that arent technically possible... (putting callers on hold and playing an mp3, I loved that one!).

    Please post your ideas for shareware/freeware apps that you'd like to see developed. (they don't necassarily have to be Treo specific )

    regards
    Nick

    A speed reader app.
    This app would take a simple memo or text for the clip board, and post each work to the screen is a larger font.

    How about developing a couple of applications that work successfully as advertised and that don't cause system instability?

    I can think of two:
    - an auto-off timer "AlwaysOn" replacement and
    - an mp3 definition for incoming phone contact calls "Lightwav" replacement!

    I'd like to see an Electronic Medical Record program designed specifically for the super smartphone and WinXp/TPC.

    This program would be set up on the Smartphone as follows:

    <dropdown patient list-populated by data base> <dropdown location list-populated by data base>

    < active dx's>
    <allergies>
    <Medications> link already associated in database to selected patient on every page.

    S: <voice recorded dictation>

    Complete ROS <Check Boxes> (check means +)
    When note is printed on letterhead, negative and positive ROS separated into distinct paragraphs

    O: <voice recorded dictation>
    <With checkboxes for body system examined> Checkboxes assist EM Coder

    A: <Numbered Dropdown list with hyphenated ICD9>
    (top ten in list are dx's already associated in database to selected patient)

    P: <Numbered List populated by A:>
    <voice recorded dictation>
    <pharmacy database/link>

    Billing: <built in EM Coder that Bills and Codes based on items selected in all sections S-P.>

    This program should/would support all current wire/wireless PC/Server network standards.

    This program would also allow me to record both sides of a phone conversation when I'm on call and attach the recording to a patient's file in the PC database on the network when I sync.

    The PC part of the software would/should allow for data manipulation, mining and wire/wireless BT/802.11.a/b/g, IrDa sync to TPC/pc/server base.

    Hopefully...one day...

    I didn't mean anything by it. I realize you didn't actually expect it. I just thought the look on the dev's face must have been funny when he was reading the request.

    I should have added some emoticons so as not to offend.

    <edit> I added some. Hope thats better.

    How about a beer pickin' app. Hit the button drink what it says, Ale, Lagger, Barley Wine, Dark etc..... Just another reason to drink I guess.

    An app to rotate the screen!

    Would be really useful for using the wireless keyboard so you could lay it on it's side (more stable and able to charge/listen to music)
    Less than 400 posts to get my own little treo icon!

    This might require advanced developer skills. My friend has been looking for an application that would mute the treo for a certain time period and/or during certain times. He will turn off the ringer during movies or mtgs then forget to turn it back on. Would be nice if software switch that said "mute my treo for X minutes" or mute every day b// x:xx am and x:xx pm

    I'd like to have an app for full screen caller ID on the 650. Lightwav just doesn't do it for me.

    How about a replacement to Lightwav & Koolalarms? Or a simple Ringer app for Snappermail or other apps, I can never get those apps to work!

    How about a simple program that lets me record up to 4 players scores for 18 holes?
