    Hey everyone

Just downloaded TCPMP and now there's this huge long list of apps.
Do I have to put all of them on the Treo?

Which ones do I need (if not all)?
    They include:

    tcpmp.prc
    tcpmp_ac3_plugin.prc
    tcpmp_amr_plugin.prc
    tcpmp_camera_plugin.prc

    And the list goes on...

they're plugins for playing different media types. Install what you need and you're set.
    Palm III > HS Visor > Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 750 > Treo Pro > PrePlus GSM

"95% of all software issues are due to USER ERROR."

tcpmp.prc is needed as this is the main application

After that it depends what format of media file you want to play. ie mpg, avi etc

Lets say you have a couple of different formats you want to play.

You can either install all the plugins and leave them if you have enough memory, or delete them one at a time and check that the video still plays after you have delete one.

The other option is to install no plugins, try you video and then install plugins one at a time until the video plays.

By trial and error you will workout which you need.

The readme file helps too !!!

    Good luck

Yeah thanks a lot. I put an episode of Family Guy on my Treo and it tells me that Windows Media Audio is not supported by the player. It says

    Error:
    Player: Audio codec
(Windows Media Audio) not supported by the player!

I guess I have to find something else to play it on...

Yeah I can see the show but I can't hear it. I put an episode of Seinfeld on there and it works fine. Is there a way to re-configure the audio on these files or am I just SOL?

isn't the AAC audio codec plugin needed for WMV audio? it's no longer supplied with the latest release of TCPMP.

So I think you are saying it is a wmv format?

Therefore it will not play WMV, but if you use the Hotsync module to place the file onto your card it should convert the file to an avi automatically for you so that it plays.

Here's another cool feature of TCPMP. If you use it for viewing still photos, you can actually see them in landscape mode instead of that crappy cropped fullscreen mode used by the native Camera app. For some reason, fullscreen as the only viewing option on the Treo used to drive me nuts -- I couldn't see review how my photos were composed. Now life is good.

I am wondering what setting is required with FairUse Wizard in order to get subtitles to show up with TCPMP. Everything else works well, but I am not getting subtitles to show, even when I select a language under subtitles.
    Thankyou.

Not true... there are different flavors of WMV, encoded with different audio codecs

I think you possibly have to allow 'subpictures' at some stage. Just a guess really though.
