I noticed that when I have my phone set to remind me of a task, it won't vibrate. It vibrates for everything else - calendar events, phone calls, messages, alarms...but not tasks. Is this common, or is there something funky going on with my Treo 650 (Cingular Orange)? Thanks for the help in advance.

Can someone do a quick test - ie ensure you have vibrate enabled, and make a quick reminder and see if it vibrates? Thanks.

Nope, it wont vibrate for me either. Smells like a BUG.

Its strange that it took me this long to realize this....considering how often i use tasks+alarms. Well then. This is great.

Good observation, I didn't notice it either... I'll post it on www.treo650update.com today.

Hey tundycentral, can you just put your website URL in your signature or something instead of trolling these threads attempting to drum up hits on your website? I'm still recovering from that image you served everyone with on your guestbook.

Tundy, this is your final warning, if you spam your link again you are banned.
You have made your point, you have advertised your website, I wish you all the luck with it, hopefully palm responds to it, BUT your spamming here is not appreciated.

Evilghost made a good suggestion, if you want it shown everywhere put it in your signature. Posting the link in just about every post you make is not appreciated and will not be tolerated.

Guess what ? I know this might not be a solution some people want to hear, but I just tested the tasks alarm notification with vibrating alert. I have a Sprint 650 with the Butler application installed and what do you know....IT WORKS ! So there, take that Tundy. When setting the alarm, I changed the number days in alarm to " 0 " days earlier so it went off today. Maybe that was one problem gadgetluva had, not setting it for either present or future time, as there are settings for days earlier. Anyway, with Butler, it works. Hope that helps.

Thank you. I am going to continue to alert the admins instead of engaging in flame-wars, which seem to be counter-productive and produce the opposite effect I am going for (cessation of said behavior). I appreate you quickly addressing this.

Sorry for hijacking the thread guys. I will cease off-topic related posts in this thread.

That's probably Butler making up for the built-in Task apps inability to make vibrate work.

Sprint 1.08, same issue with task vibrate. Task did not vibrate, when phone was switched into vibrate/silent mode and vibrate was enabled.

Yep. Butler doesn't let you miss anything. But make sure when setting an alarm for the task, change the default setting of " 5 days earlier " to zero days or for a specified number of days after today.

I tried it with Butler...but interestingly enough, the initial "reminder" doesn't vibrate...but instead, it vibrates when Butler takes the program over to repeat the alarms. For example, I have it set to vibrate every 40 seconds until I dismiss it. After 40 seconds of waiting around, it finally starts to vibrate. looks like I'll purchase butler - its essential IMO.

This is a new issue, and as such, I responded and promised to make an entry in the www.treo650update.com site... which I promptly did do.

And for the record Casper, I know exactly where that heinous garbage came from, and you're not fooling anyone... get some professional help.

On a less interesting note: It's just an observation... how many of you here that claimed to have seen this image by clicking on an obscure link at the bottom of the petition stack when, A. you all claim to be so disinterested in the progress or content of my petition and B. it was up on the site for a grand total of certainly no more than 3 - 4 hours...

    Huh? go figure.

    G'night all.

Just so I know how this forum works, does that word "Banned" underneath his user name on the last post indicate just that "Banned from the forum"? Kudos if so!
