Does anyone know how to delete a favorite button. I'm using an Unlocked GSM 650 and cannot seem to figure out how to delete. I follow the directions exactly on page 55 of the manual. When I select "edit favorites Button" I do not get an option to delete as stated in the manual. Could anyone offer any suggestions?

I think that you cannot delete the buttons for the "built in" applications, i.e. Real Player, Versamail, etc. You can, however, move them. I moved them to the last favorites page so that they are out of the way.

    Hope this helps,

    hmm...

I deleted them - just highlighted the button I wanted to change or delete, pushed the menu button, hit edit favorite button and then hit delete. I'm Sprint CDMA, maybe that makes the difference?

The Favorites that you create yourself will have the delete button; those that come pre-installed, such as Contacts or Voicemail, will not.

To delete a pre-installed Favorite, install FileZ, select the PhoneFavorites file (PhoneFavorites2DB) and choose Item/Edit from the menu. Delete whichever records you're concerned with - I believe Contacts is record 0 and Voicemail is record 1 - select View first to be sure.

Cool trick To make sure you're deleting the correct button, once on the edit screen, highlight the number and then click view, you'll see the name in the Hex Editor Screen.

I have also found that if you go to the 'Edit Favourite Pages' screen, you can use your stylus to drag the icons you don't want to say pages 3,4 or 5. An easy way to get them off the first page at least.

    Thanks, Bill, great tip!
Unused button had been bugging me, too. I had hidden them on a back page, but I knew they were there!...
Plus, I was starting to wonder if I really needed FileZ for anything since I use the file browser in ZLauncher for most file snooping. But I have not found the feature in ZLauncher to be able to edit files, if it exists. That edit function redeems FileZ for me.

Hm...I can't do this...Can't delete, don't have the file in FileZ (just one file called "PhoneFavorites2" and it won't let me drag them to another page.

I will probably delete Versa and Real Player anyway, but I have easier ways to access the camera and Web.

I have the new GSM unlocked FW...

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Having fixed favorite buttons for Versamail, Messaging and Real Player was driving me crazy. This fix did the trick!

phonefavorites2 is the same thing. Look in there, I just did and I could see the 'undeletable' buttons. I haven't decided if I want to delete them for sure yet, so I haven't monkeyed with them. :-)
