I'm interested in a software product that will track tasks for projects. Each project has 20-33 tasks that need to occur. Each project also has, roughly, the exact same tasks, so I would like something that has templates, or the ability to copy an entire "project."

Also, sometimes there are a dozen or more "projects" going at a time. I know that sounds high, but I will be using it to track very long sales cycles as well as the implementation of the system, should the client buy the solution.

I'm looking for more than a todo list type program. I want target dates, who's responsible for that task, when it was done, a "notes" field. And, some sort of conduit and desktop component or at least an export to memopad or something.

    Anybody?

Sounds like you're looking for a lot of functionality -- have you considered the MS Project conduit for the Palm?

See the following thread re: project management software - http://discussion.visorcentral.com/v...?threadid=7321

The URL for Project Planner that is given in the above thread is broken. Try this link instead - http://www.palmgear.com/software/sho...30&prodID=3019

BTW, Brainforest Professional might work for you if you needs are modest, but it is really more of an outliner than it is a project manager. Also, it appears to be desktop biased, the mobile Palm app can not update the desktop software - http://www.palmgear.com/software/sho...30&prodID=2364

However, I've decided that the Visor's screen is just too small for this class of software. As is the case with spreadsheets, you just can't see enough of a task list or Gantt chart to enter status updates during a meeting; nevermind reallocating resources. This process is slow enough with a laptop, and it is so slow on a Visor that it seriously disrupts the flow of a meeting. However, it works OK as a portable reference. As in most things, your mileage may vary . . . BTW, if you use MS Project 2000, Project@Hand is the only way to go as it is the only solution that will acually sync with MS Project 2K. If you don't want to read through the above discussion thread, here is the URL for Project@Hand - http://www.natara.com./ProjectAtHand/index.cfm

It's free, it's going to have Gannt, and it's simple.

    Check it out at:

The download is @ the bottom of the page!

    Flacks:

I'm CONSTANTLY amazed at the amount of quality software for the Palm OS that is free! I realize it makes it tougher and tougher for the commercial companies to compete, but this is a really great program!

    Thanks for the lead!
