Has anyone been able to log into ebay and place bids using a Treo 650? I can browse to ebay.com but I can't log-in. I'm thinking it's a cookie or security thing. Any workarounds? Perhaps a different browser. I'm using the built-in Blazer.

I figured it out. I was using www.ebay.com and I need to use wap.ebay.com

Still, are there any other browsers out there that would provide better security and be compatible with the 650?

I log into ebay just fine and I do not use the wap site.

I too can log on using Blazer. But I prefer to use Webpro since speed is crucial when bidding. Webpro can also access paypal accounts.

Is Webpro that much faster? What about Xiino? I just found out about both of them. Which one is faster and more secure?

Oh yeah, and what about the Eudora browser for Palm? Is that one any good?

Just use a sniper. I really never manually placed bids on eBay anymore.

Oh I do when I know what I want. I'm thinking more about when I'm out and about and decide to browse eBay to pass the time. If I come across something that's ending soon and may not be back at my computer before it does, I can just bid from my Treo.

Or are you thinking about an online sniper "service" as opposed to a sniper "application"? If so, any recommendations? Any online services that work well with the Treo? Or better yet, are you refering to a Palm sniper application? That would would be cool. Then again maybe not... If you're in a tunnel or an elevator or anywhere else with little or no signal during the last seconds of an auction, you could miss it completely.

I use Esnipe (https://www.esnipe.com) and I haven't had any problems. A few of my friends at work also use Esnipe. The best thing is I can access Esnipe using Blazer just fine.

There is also an application called Abidia that acts as a client to Ebay and scrapes and synchronizes your Palm/Treo via wireless.

    You can find it here:

    Good Luck.

Nice Tip! Have you tested it with a 650?

Btw, the link you provided goes to a page for the Symbian Series 60 version.

The Palm version is at http://www.abidia.com/p2-35.html
